Danube Palace, Budapest: Watching concerts and theaters

by hopang

It is recommended to watch some concerts or theaters in the evening in Budapest when you visit the city on your vacation. One concert that we can recommend is Danube Symphony Orchestra with Hungarian cimbalon (hammer dulcimer) show at Duna Palota. The show is rather unique with cimbalon, the Hungarian folk musical instrument.Duna Palota (Danube Palace) is located between the Chain Bridge and St. Stephen's Basilica at Budapest's V District. This neo-Baroque theater is in the list of buildings to be protected by the Hungarian government. It was designed by Geza Márkus and was constructed in the late 19th century. The building formerly housed the well-known Casino Lipótváros. Many popular artists from around the world have performed in the palace. Visitors can view some lovely and wonderful paintings free of charge near the ticket counter. The theater itself is quite well-decorated and...

awesome source of information: Never be Bored in Budapest

by GunMetalGray

Nightclubs in Budapest open and close soo much that its pretty hard to keep up with what's still open. The best way to alleviate this torture is to go to www.pestiside.hu It is basically an underground magazine/website that will completely answer your questions on what to do. They keep up with whats "HOT" or what's not. and also keep you aware of the not so talked about craziness of Budapest. I LOVE THIS SITE.

Vaci Utca: Pedestrians only

by bartlese

This place is probably one of the pricier places to go to but if your just on a short vacation and want to get drunk and meet other travelers, this is a good place. during the night they have some packed bars (I enjoyed a place called Fat Mos) but during the day they also have shopping and bookshops. This is a pedestrian strip of town so if you have some extra cash, you should stop by and even if you dont, its a nice place to stroll

Bermuda triangles in Budapest

by vadjutka

When one comes to Budapest, surely wants to do something what the inhabitants do. OK, so come to the Bermuda -triangles of Budapest, where you loose yourself in beer and wine. Bermuda triangle part one: It is on the Buda side, very close to Erzsebet-bridge. It consists of three (triangle!) open-air bars. Two of them are very close to the stop of the tram, NO. 18, and one of them is called "Platanos sorozo" (sorozo is for bar) and the other is called "Rackert". These are the places where artists and university students gather and try to listen to music or try to save the universe, or - most commonly - try to get the newest gossips. The third one is called "Romkert" and is very close to "Rudas Bath" which is in the busstop of bus NO. 7. This is a place for trendy yuppies - personally I only have been there once. Bermuda triangle part two: This triangle is on the Pest side in district...

Such an big city and prestige touristic destination, like Budapest is, offers to the visitors various kind of nightlife amusements. At Castle Hill District you can enjoy food and drink in a small restaurants, walking through the streets not so crowded at that time or just watching Danube and the boats passing by.On the other side of the Danube bank, in the Inner City, there are plenty of discoteques, bars, night-bars etc. The picture of Hungarian Parliament taken from the Castle Hill District.
