Many people get very excited about the rest of the city, they forget to visit Margit Sziget (Margaret Island). It's right along the Danube between Buda and Pest, very easy to get to. If you go, you can rent bicycles of all sorts (single, double, etc.). It's very relaxing, full of beautiful nature, and if you get hungry you can stop at the stands to get something. Leave a Comment

Szigetvar a small town in the Southern part of Hungary. It has signification for Croatian history too, because duke Nikola ubić Zrinski died here in a battle against Ottomans. Due to his great courage in that battle and heroic death, Ottoman Emperor have payed him respect by not cuting his head, what they usualy did to their enemies. Leave a Comment

Visit the village of Szilvásvárad in the Bükk Mountains. You can see the prehistoric man's cave, eat trout bred in the Szalajka brook (the best when smoked), visit the Fátyol (Veil) Waterfall and the open-air Forest Museum, or watch the Lipica horses. They often have different horse-riding and carriage-driving championships as well, not only an Hungarian but also on international level. Leave a Comment
