Kecskemet, a small town of peaceful co-existence of different religions (Roman Catholic, Calvinist, Lutheran, Jewish, Greek)and churches.
A visit to the Bukk Hills in the north of the country is well worth it if you can manage. The scenery is lovely and there are some interesting caves worth a visit especially Szent Istvan Cave.
Lake Balaton is interesting. It's near the town of Heviz, about two hours from Budapest by bus
