This year the celebrations were sponsored by 'Fidesz' the right wing opposition party
and their canditate for mayor in the upcoming elections next week stands a good
chance to win. The present mayor for Nagykata is seeking a 4th term but too
little progress and mismanaged funds will make it difficult for her.Well politics aside
the festival is a wonderful event for locals to get together. The sit down meal costed
only 800 Forints, approx 2 GDP, which is reasonable even by Hungarian standards.

MIDDLE EARTH
Never a dull moment and you get tired
of taking pictures of the locals or your fruit and veg
growing, then let your imagination get hold of you
and think of all the wierd and wonderful pics you
can take. I have driven past Everest 4 times the highest
point of this planet, and been to Soddom and Gommorah
in the Dead Sea the lowest point on the planet quite a few times,
and Nagykata is closer to the earths core than many places
in Europe so I suppose you could call it Middle Earth ..LOTR.
So here is a photo of middle earth...

2006 was my 3rd year watching the battle,
there come more people every year.
But I'm still the only Englishman
living in the surrounding area.-
There is a Japanese Clarion factory
so there are some Japanese, but
they spend all there time working
and don't mix with the local population
really. I used to teach one of the bosses
English, but then he returned to Japan.

My 2nd home since 2003 in Nagykáta Town

Nagykáta is pronounced Nodge Kata... some people think I live in a Japanese town. Nagy means big in Hungarian and Kata is the name of an old family that once ruled the town. referenced text by...
