TESCO has everything from groceries to hardware. I found it to be very easy to shop in because it was laid out like an American Supermarket.
What to buy: Groceries, some clothing, hard ware, utilities such as batteries, etc.
What to pay: Average supermarket prices. Tesco is a big UK based chain so they undercut the little guys.
