Turner and Italy
A temporary exhibitions in the Museum of Fine Arts from the works of Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775–1851), one of the most significant landscape painters of the 19th century and indeed perhaps in the entire history of art. The more than 80 works come from the Museum of Fine Arts’ own collection and from various public and private collections, primarily from Great Britain and the United States.The exhibition explores Turner’s lifelong romance with Italy, and celebrates the influence of Italian light and history on his art. The exhibition has been realised by the help of Tate Britain is open Tuesday – Sunday: 10.00 – 18.00,on every second Thursday (on uneven weeks) until 10 p.m. in the period of time 15 July 2009 – 25 October 2009.Admission full price: 2 600 HUF, with advance purchase, 2 200 HUF Photography or videotaping is not permitted.
