Favorite thing: Balatonfured is a decent beach-type resort at the north shore of Balaton, east of Tihany. It's one of the bigger towns in the area.
You might enjoy it if you like that type of entertainment.
For my taste too overcrowded with German tourists if you know what I mean (no offence).
Fondest memory: Nice food and dring at csardas there,
unfortunately too much tourist-oriented and many of them closed off season.
Surprisingly I've had problems finding a restaurant accepting visa card there in late 90-ies.

The office is open throughout the whole year, from 15th June 2002 - 15th September 2002 it is open from 09.00 till 20.00 (Mon-Fri) and 09.00 - 18.00 (Sat-Sun).
They are non-organization and provide information for visitors and people inquiring over the phone, to supply them with local and nationwide brochures and other publications and to give information about programmes, sights, accommodation, dining and entertainment opportunities and about timetables. Information is available in Hungarian, German, English, French and Italian. They also sells books, maps, postcards and other things useful for tourists and residents.
