The region is famous for its wines. Perhaps in local markets you can buy every kind of Hungarian wines, but it is also possibly to get very good home-made wine directly from its producents. They can pour your own bottle as well as give you another one, for example 2-l plastic bottle for drinks. Usually there is a possibility of tasting wine in the place where it is stored. I don't know if all these things are legal, but what a special taste they have! It is not a complicated matter to find a wine producent, e.g. s/he may have bottles with wine standing on a small table in the road in the front of house.
Prices: about a half of that you have to pay for cheap wine in market.
