It was opened 30 years ago. It is a very intimate place, you can eat the Hungarian specialities under vine-arbour here. After the food you can eat delicious ice-creams, drink tasty wines and coffees, though you can find Italian coffees here too, which is of course not a problem :)
It is open mainly in the summer, somewhere I read that it's open from 1st April till 30th October, some other site claims its open from 1st January till 30th October. Anyways, you will find it open in the summer for sure from 10a.m. till 9p.m., and I think you cannot be disappointed when you eat here!

The reason for my letter is to complain about the restaurant Kolostor. Yesterday, on 01 April, we visited the beautiful of Tihany. At lunchtime we chose the restaurant Kolostor because we thought it was a good choice. The waiter offered us two Hungarian cuisine dishes. A dish cooked with pork leg and another with skewers of grilled meats, and vegetables. We ordered two of them, and three beers, two Cokes and a mineral water. The presentation of everything was great, but we realized that most of the dish was salad and potatoes, but little meat. We also ordered two desserts. When we ask for the bill, the waiter brought us a paper with handwritten numbers only and a total of 39,435 HUF. We were a bit surprised because of the high price, so we asked the waiter if he could explain the bill. The surprise was huge when he said they included 5 salads, 5 and 5 potato salad sauces we had not ordered. We tried to explain that he had asked anything like that, but he did nothing but say that it was included in the two dishes he had offered at first. As we had already paid, the waiter completely disowned us and ignored us of bad manners.
I must say that, in addition, they charge 1 liter of beer when in fact the glasses do not reach that amount.
