The waters of the Blue Lagoon have been offically recognized by the Icelandic Ministry of Health as a treatment for Psoriasis( a chronic scaling of the skin). Icelandic insurance companies even reimburse the cost of treatment to their patients. There is a special section of the Blue Lagoon designated for these patients.
