Reykjavik Bagel Company: if u like Bagels

by Puckfair

This is more of a deli but it was gorgeousi think it was 400 we paid but there was a good choice of fillings , u could chose to sit down there or get take away again the assistants spoke english, but all u really have to do is point out what u want anyway The Bagel Company offers many different kinds of coffees and teas in addition to small pastries, sandwiches and salads all made right there in the kitchen. They even make their own spreads for your bagels

Einar Ben: This is a good restaurant.

by dassi

It is a nice restaurant with good food both fish and meat. And it has this great bar upstairs The Red bar. Grilled fillet of lamb with rosemary infused lamb jus.You can not go wrong with the Icelandic lamb.

Maru: Sushi Icelandic style

by tuoedisni1

Sushi isn't what you'd normally look for in Iceland, but then again, it is famous for its seafood. This restaurant was very good, although a little slow. The surroundings and excellent service definitely made up for that.

Laekjarbrekka: A very good restaurant in centrum

by dassi

This is a good restaurant cosy and well located, with both fish and meat. It is the same there as all over the place don´t miss the lamb (if you eat that). It is not cheap to go dining in Reykjavik and this would be a bit over avarage when it comes to price. My favorite would be the lamb and lobster. And some Icecream for desert.

Galileo: Great pizza

by bpwillet

Set in one of Reykjavik's historic buildings, once used for housing hawks, Galileo has a lot to impress people with. The lunch and dinner menus change a bit but offer really fresh Italian dishes. The interior is nice and clean and has great window views of Ingolfstorg, or why not sit outside. On days where the sun is in full swing, the outside tables give great views of the people passing the square. It is funny to go to Iceland to have pizza but this was some of the best I have had. They make quite gormet pizza creations and their pasta dishes are top notch. Their creative seafood dishes are always fresh and the portions are plentiful. The price is just right as well.

Reykjavik Bagel Company: Best little cafe in town

by bpwillet

Ok so maybe this isn't exaclty a restaurant. But this coffeehouse is one of the best in Reykjavik. The atmosphere is perfect letting in as much abient light as possible. There are plenty things to read and great leather chairs to sit in and read, drink coffee, nosh on many of the sweet and savoury items for sale. It is truely a spectacular find. The Bagel Company offers many different kinds of coffees and teas in addition to small pastries, sandwiches and salads all made right there in the kitchen. They even make their own spreads for your bagels.

The seafood cellar: Outstanding

by SJ11

The Seafood Cellar is located in the heart of Reykjavik, at the Ingolfssquare, it´s rather expensive but the quality of the food, service and the atomsphere is as good as it gets, some people even told me they think this is probably one of the best restaurant they have ever been to. Exotic Plate, you just get 6 diffrent courses, so you will taste all the best things that the restaurant has to offer.

Vegamot: Vegamot.. age 16-35

by SJ11

Vegamot coffee house and restaurant, they make the best coffee house food in Iceland wich means it´s not so expensive a meal somewhere between 1000-1600 ISKAfter 22:00 it turns into a night club with some of Icelands best dj´s and stuff like that.Go to the website, and click "NIGHTLIFE" there you can see pics of the Icelandic nightlife. Wow..hmm, I like almost all of it

Rauda Husid "The Red House": Red House

by superbad

The owner was one of the friendliest people we met on the whole trip. She went well out of her way accomadting a vegan meal request, and even found us a hotel room. What can I say, the place was just really nice, and the food was great. And we were the only non-locals. You probably wouldn't make a trip to Eyrarbakki for the town itself, but it's just off the main ring road, and you really should stop for this place. Don't remember what I ate, but it was one of the best meals we had. It was definitely the most surprising- you would never expect a place like this in such a little fishing village.

Apotek: Apotek

by superbad

A cool, trendy, modern restaurant in Reykjavik, but with friendly service. Sort of Asian fusion cuisine. Kitchen was very accomodating about a vegan meal request, and turned out a very original, unusual dish (especially considering how few vegetables Iceland has available). Really good food.
