Tiudropar: delicious sandwiches

by margaretvn

We had coffee here a couple of times and a lunch. It is a small restaurant below street level. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The sandwiches were delicious and the coffee good. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. Remember the refills for the coffee are free. I had a delicous toasted brie sandwich with homemade granary bread. Koos Had local salmon on his sandwich. We so tempted with the homemade cakes as well but the sandwiches were just so filling we could not manage one.

360 degrees in one hour: Highest Bar on Reykjavík

by MrAviator2u

This is THE restaurant in town to visit. It is a top of a hill across from the airport. It is expensive, but well worth the cost. The circular floor on the restaurant rotates 360 degrees every hour. It turns very slowly giving you an impressive view of the city, airport, and tundra. The bar on the second floor is the hight on the city. WILD FRESH Salmon!!!!

Humarhúsið or Lobster House Restaurant: Great Seafood with an Icelandic Twist

by pjkdog

This place was great! My wife and I wanted to go to one really good restaurant while we were here, and to be honest even a casual dining place is expensive in Iceland so it's not that big of a jump in price. The atmosphere was great. It looks like your eating in an old sea side home. The service impeccable. I also loved how you order! First you go upstairs where you can have a drink or smoke and sit in a lounge and talk with other guests while perusing the menu. A waitress will then ask for your entire order, she will come and bring you downstairs when your first course and table is ready. I think other countries could learn from this, because we got talk with other people and it was great to sit down at the table and have our food come out within a minute! As for the food it was great though my wife would not let me order the horse. Can't go wrong with the Surf and Turf!

The Pearl (Perlan): The Pearl of Reykjavik

by scorpiobehr

A somewhat pricey upscale restauraunt in Reykjavik , this restauruant had an incredible view of the city and a wonderful range of dishes to suit any palate! This restauraunt served up an great variey of gourmet delights in a rotating panoramic view overlloking the city of Reykjavik. The service was very attentive and the 4 course specials proved to be an excellent choice! The Lobster Bisque was amazing.. very simple, loaded with butter and huge chunks of lobster, this dish was velvety simple and oh so good!

Vegamot: Creative dishes, excellent value!

by scorpiobehr

The food was all around excellent! We ate there three times and this restaurant was one of the best places we ate at in Reykjavik. Eclectic coffee house style restaurant with a wide selection of dishes and quite reasonable price wise by Icelandic standards, we were never dissappointed with the quailty or quanity of the food! The brolied monkfish was amazing ,served with a curried rice and fresh vegatables.

Saegreifinn: Great stuff!

by tarabo

This is a small restaurant where you'll find an old sailor-cook producing nice food at reasonable price. I walked in during a rainy spell to recover and had lobster soup and enjoyed the atmosphere created by a party of 8 ladies from a choir (laughing, drinking, and singing!!!) and the owner dancing. I was even offered dried fish (hardfiskur) to chew on for a while.Lots of things on the wall to look at (pictures, stuffed animals, fishing equipment...)Even without the choir I think it deserves a visit. My bill added to 700 isk.(The man is getting lots of publicity also on aeroplane magazines and he doesn't speak a word of English.)

Apotek

by globetrotter_2006

Apotek Bar Grill, is a very fancy restaurant. We had a large group with us, probably eight of us and we had a blast. Very friendly people. The building formerly housed the pharmacy Reykjavíkurapótek, which lent the restaurant its name. EVERYTHING is good here, trust me !!

Pizza 67: Pizza 67

by Ericasmurf99

Mmmm I love this place. These are located in many different towns in Iceland. Besides pizza, they also have hamburgers and salads. They have a 60's/70's theme to them, many pictures of the Beatles on the wall. The Pepporoni 67 - a pizza with extra cheese, extra pepporoni, and chile pepper.
