Situated between Skaftafell & Hofn, this is a must stop by travellers in the south of Iceland !
Jokulsarlon, also known as Glacial River Lagoon is 190-m deep.
It's full of large icebergs carved out from the glacier Breidamerkurjokull.
It cracks out of context hence makes it a classic arctic scene !
Walking around the area is a good way to explore the icebergs but definitely we can't do this if the buses would just stop for a few minutes...

Jokulsarlon is situated just near The Ring Road & all the buses in the south of Iceland would pass this area.
There's no houses in this area apart from a small restaurant where we can rest, having some drinks while enjoying the scenes...

Every few years, we can expect changes of the icebergs !
Hence, the photos might look different every time when we capture it, even at the same spot !

Jokulsarlon also has been locations for 2 James Bond movies :

The following day, I took a bus from Hofn, purposely to be in this 'arctic scene' for about 5 hours, hence taking lots of photos !
These are the photos from that day !

This photo was the first impression by my camera when my bus stopped for a few minutes, on my way to Hofn.

You can get pretty wet by the waterfall. We saw 2 ladies getting drenched and were glad we had our raincoats (although we seemed to be the only tourist wearing raincoats).

30 metres was pretty high up when your life is hanging on a rope. I got a bit of a height fright mid way.
