Walking
Reykjavik's city center is compact, so you can pretty much walk everywhere. There are some maps with specific walks, covering some or most of the highlights of the city and these maps can be picked up pretty much for free at hotels and information desks.Hafnarfjördur, one of the suburbs of Reykjavik region, offers 2 specific walk tours that might be of interest: one called the Hidden Worlds tour and another one called Sculpture and Shore tour (name taken from the guide Take a Break). The maps of these walks can be picked up at their tourist information desk at Strandgata 6, but be aware that the Hidden World tour costs 3000 ISK (as of May 2008) because it's run by Horft í Hamarinn. However, by clicking on the link for Take a Break, you get the 2007 guide that shows the walks in the map for free :D
