On our way east towards Jökulsarlón, we stopped in Vik to see the famed Reynisdrangar rock pillars and to grab a bite at the Strönd Restaurant, and to get gas for our car. The food was more fast food like (well the part of the restaurant we dined in at least) and it was your normal fare of quick eating. If I recall correctly, I think I had a hamburger which isn't traditionally Iceland at all, but it hit the spot.

If you do the ring anti-clockwise the south coast is the first wilderness you will see. Highlights are the skogafoss and a bird rock rising high above the cold see and black beaches.
