Both the train and bus station are located together in the same location about 1km south east of the town centre. For here there are hourly bus links to Galway, Limerick and most major cities. There are lso less frequent buses to the west of the county. Check out www.buseireann.ie for more up to date information. The are also twice daily trains to Dublin 3.5 hrs and a new frequent train service to Limerick €10 daily return. There is both a ticket office and information desk at the station. But no shop to get a coffee or snack so bring your own. It's only a short 5 minute walk to the town centre so there is no need for a taxi if you are on a budget Leave a Comment

Cute little Irish cab thingie by LolaSanFrancisco We flew into Shannon Airport and jumped into a cab. With me in the front seat where normally I would be driving and Palie in the back seat looking freaked out, tired and trying not to back-seat drive. We took off down the pretty road with funky turn-arounds and lots of sheeps and little school kids in plaid skirts and bobby socks. About 20 life threatening minutes later, we were smack dab at the door of our hotel. Cost: $35.00 USD. He would take the tip. I still wonder if it was because I sacred him with my short outbursts of non sense. Leave a Comment
