The food is gorgeous and the decoration is interesting. I would recommend the chowder soup (seafood soup, quite thick but sooo nice..hmm!!! I'm getting hungry now haha :-) )
If you like old Irish pubs and stonewalls, don't hesitate to call over. It's very cosy.
The Dromoland Castle offers three restaurants, The Fig Tree which is in the country club, light meals in the Drawing Room and The Earl of Thomand, which has won international awards.
The Earl of Thomand is very elegant and you can dine while hearing a harpist play. The service was outstanding and the food delicious and beautifully presented. You may have the daily table' d' hote' meal or choose to order a la carte.
Jacket and tie are required for men.
Favorite Dish: A delicious selction of fruit and Irish cheeses
Small pub with good music, good food and a nice friendly atmosphere. Order food at the bar and find a table in the back next to the fire!
Favorite Dish: Our guide recommended we try the Irish Stew claiming it was the best she has ever tasted - I certainly wasn't disappointed! I had my huge plateful polished off in minutes and seconds wouldn't have gone amiss!
A true seafood pub. They hardly serve anything else (so I didn't have a lot to eat as I don't like fish too much). My boyfriend had an open prawn sandwich though and he loved it.
The brown bread tasted homemade...
Favorite Dish: The bread. Wonderful Irish brown bread!
We stopped here for lunch. One of the best decisions ever actually. They served excellent pub food here!!
Favorite Dish: Homemade Beef Burger - I never saw anything like it! It was huge and very tasty!
