You should definitely check out central or west Cork
We stayed in Bandon (about 45 minutes west of Cork City) at
www.kilbroganhouse.com what a nice place run by Catherine and David, brother an sister. Staying there gave us a real feel for life in a smaller Irish town. From there it is an easy trip to the west. we took the Michael Collins tour with Timothy Crowley. A highlight of our trip. www.michaelcollinscentre.com
Just the three of us and Timothy in our car for about 4 hours.
