Luggage and bags:
If visiting for the day, a light day-sac to carry your camera, guide book etc. Leave room for all the tacky souvenirs!!
If the left luggage in Cork bus station is closed, you can leave your case/ ruck sack etc at the ticket office at the Castle.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: In October, as most months in Ireland, there is a good chance of rain, so come prepared with a waterproof jacket and headgear. It was quite cold too, so a thin fleece or wool jumper might be neededThe ground around Rock Close can be quite wet and muddy, so suitable footwear is needed. Also the steps of the castle can be slippery in parts
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: I'm not sure if there is a pharmacy in Blarney. There is a small supermarket, which might stock basics. There is a Medical centre and dentists surgery - not sure of opening hours.
Carry all essential medication with you.
Photo Equipment: As much as you'll need for pics of the castle and grounds - lots of Autumnal colours
Waterproof case, and lint free cloths for clearing lens.
Miscellaneous: binoculars for views from top of the castle.
Clothing you can layer is best. Some days are cooler than others, and some start out cool but get warmer. A rain jacket is nice as well. Comfy walking shoes are a must.
Photo Equipment: You will have so many photo opportunities, so be sure and bring your camera and plenty of film or a nice sized memory card and plenty of batteries!
Miscellaneous: Ireland gets a lot of rain, so be sure and pack an umbrella.
