dont be fooled by the irishness of blarney castle, it is owned by an anglo irish man named colthurst, most of his staff hate him and high court action has been taken by a long time photographer at the castle to prevent him from loosing his livlehood . The poet who sat otside ,charlie was told to leave even though he was of far more interest than the tacky rubbish inside . Charlie passed away suddenly in january , beware of the guides who take u to the castle / ask about their %.
There is a poet outside of the entrance gate of the castle that will try to sell you a poem he wrote. Some don't mind, but some people just don't like to be solicited. He is a nice man if you would like to talk with him a bit, but if you don't want to be bothered, just detour around. Not so much a trap, as it is a person trying to sell something.
Unique Suggestions: If you do choose to talk with him, he is friendly. He offers the poem for whatever you are willing to give him. He is an older gentleman, so please be kind.
