The Quays is just a few yards beyond the Heritage Centre and railway station, the perfect place to either start or finish your trip to Cobh in. Entrance is down a flight of steps which gives you access to the courtyard dining area or the restaurant indoors. Either option is delightful but obviously being outside, right next to the sea, is preferable during fine weather. Everything here is impeccable, the service is excellent and the food is delicious. Quite simply, it's streets ahead of any other restaurant in Cobh.
Favorite Dish: You can eat a substantial meal here or a lighter but equally sustaining snack. The soup, for example, is a really good option with a choice between the excellent fish chowder or the soup of the day. All soups are served with a generous portion of three different delicious home-made breads. Wraps, savoury baguettes and melts are something of a speciality and it is hard to decide which to go for. The wholegrain mustard and sugar-glazed bacon loin with east Cork tomato relish is kind of hard to resist and so is the tuna and cheese melt. Hmm! a difficult decision but as usual I opt for my favourite -the open steak baguette with fries and salad, just too tasty to resist.

A superb location on the banks of the tidal river - as the name implies.
This pub has a a very bright modern feel to it, and is well worth seeking out.
The dishes on offer are all pretty much traditional pub food - such as roast beef or Salmon, but beautifully cooked and presented in a 'modern style'. with main dishes around 12-15 euro it is also worth that little extra compared to other other pubs in the area.
Appropriately enough, some line from the British poet Maesfield are plastered onto the walls of the restaurant. I'm not sure which verse they use, but this is my favourite :
"I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying. "
I was also intrigued by a small photograph of about 40 people from nearby villages departing for a new life and work - in Greece ! and this was only in 1969, perhaps they were starting early on the Olympics stadium.
Favorite Dish: Although fried Camenbert is a bit of a boring choice, it was exectuted perfectly.

Set in the old victorian railway station platform , the Heritage Centre cafe is not a bad place for light refreshments. It's actually quite atmospheric and reminds me of the good old days when every railway station had its so-called 'buffet' and having a cup of tea while waiting for a train was something of an event.
Favorite Dish: There are some savoury snacks but I mainly use this cafe just for coffee and it certainly does that very well. Their cappucino is enormous and definitely good value for money. Ditto with the scones, which are really big and you can have as much butter and jam as you want. It's not necessary to buy a ticket to the Queenstown Story to gain acess to the cafe and the shop. Everybody can wander in through the old station and I would recommend you do this for the atmosphere which is obviously a bit touristy but also nicely olde-worlde.

This bar is located in the former White Star Line Office building but can be visited independently - without having to visit the „Titanic Experience“ exhibition. Of course, it is one of the most Titanic – themed places you could ever imagine, although it looks a little too plastic for my taste.
Titanic bar offers good quality food, but the prices are pretty high. Therefore, I just preferred to have a pint while I watched all the guests getting their good looking meals.
It's a good place to finish a Titanic – themed day or o walk in and stop just out of curiosity. If you are looking for a good traditional pub or an affordable meal however, there are better options within walking distance.
