Cobh Heritage Centre V Cobh Town: To shop or not to shop ?

My shopping tip is brief and to the point. Don't shop at the Heritage Centre. Do shop in town.
Cobh is not exactly a shoppers paradise but along East Beach, the shopping street by the harbour , there are several nice gift-shops with ceramics, glass and other craft items. There are also a number of discount type stores where you can pick up little souvenirs very cheaply.

    Cobh Heritage Centre

The Cobh Heritage Centre is a beautifully restored Victorian railway station. In addition to housing The Queenstown Story, there are also a few nice shops which sell a variety of souvenirs.

What to buy: One of the shops( sorry can't remember the name ) had a nice collection of books on genealogy

What to pay: I thought the shops were a litlle more expensive than some of the others I visited in Ireland
