City Walks, Shopping, and Towns Worth Visiting, Cork

Favorite thing: Explore the busy centre of Cork. A walk down the main shopping streets St. Patrick´s Street and Oliver Plunkett Street offers the big variety of the place.
The smaller side streets often locate lively pubs and restaurants.
By climbing up the steep St. Patrick´s Hill (see photo) you will get a nice view of the city centre and the churches of the town.

Favorite thing: Cork is not too big a city,its suberbs do stretch out a bit but the city centre is small enough being about 1.5 mile squared. there are some interesting buildings in the city centre but most of the centre was burned down by the then occupying British forces in 1920,this episode is called,"The Burning of Cork", (Google it for more info) Here is a list of some interesting buildings;

Favorite thing: go outlet shopping at Corabbey Linens, Knockgriffin Industrial Park, Cork Road, Midleton, CoCork. Phone +353 21 632842
This outlet store sells some of the same linens other places sell for twice as much. Its not the easiest place to find, tucked in the back of this industrial park, but is well worth the effort if you're looking for linens at good prices.

Favorite thing: visit Garinish Island. The Duchas-owned gardens are reached by a short ferry ride from Glengariff. Have your camera ready to take pictures of the seals off seal island...I wasn't ready and my pics are all out of focus - but it was fun watching the seals swim and bask in the sun! The gardens are lovely - even in early April before the colors turn vibrant!

Favorite thing: As well as taking a stroll down the main strip of the city, such as St Patricks street, investigate all of the side alleys ways which are full of funky craft and antiques shops, as well as 60 and 70 stores which sell second hand flares and hippy bags.There is something for everyone who enjoys shopping.

Fondest memory: Cork is full of friendly pubs and bars where there is no inconvienent time for a quick pint of guiness.
A bargain can be picked up in many of the larger stores such as Penny's who are an equivalent to Marks and Spencers. They offer something for everyone regardless of age or gender.

Fondest memory: I was in Cork for five weeks studying with a group of students from Southwest Texas State University. My fondest memory is simply walking around Cork on afternoons with my friends trying to discover something we hadn't seen the day before.

JUST ANOTHER WAY OF THE MINISTER FOR DEFENCE SERVENTS
BULLYING THE COURT SYSTEM IN THIS COUNTRY IRELAND.
THE IRISH NAVAL SERVICE. THINGS DO NOT HAPPEN.

PS NEWS BREAK 5 4 2002 MINISTER FOR DEFENCE HAS ADMITTED HARASSMENT AND BULLYING AT LAST .
A NUMBER OF STAFF DESERTET THE DEPARTMENT AND THERE WERE ALSO A NUMBER OF DEATHS ALSO ASA A RESULT OF BULLYING AND HARASSMENT.

Fondest memory: The day that I got to wear the uniform of First Engineer Department of Defence Ireland
I was proud to wear the uniform and hold the office which the minisrter of the day appointed me.
But to the dislike of some members of Staff I was Singled out for Constructive Dismissal.
The job is a Great one But Serious Changes Need to be made in order to restore the Diginity required and Respect for the Irish Navy to be accepted by its staff and the TAXPAYER in general.
the sooner that the Minister appoints a High Court Judge to examine tthe structures and make changes the better.

Favorite thing: CORK

Cork is the second largest city in Irland and you will find it on the very south of the country. Ferries from France (Le Havre) bring many tourist every year to the “Green Island”.
In Cork you can actually find everything and it’s close to many tourist places.
The ocean side all along the coast is really wonderful.

Favorite thing: We were stayin in Millstreet which is about 40 miles from Cork, Millstreet is a beautiful village with more pubs and restaurants than villagers!!!! I definatly think that You should go there.

Fondest memory: Im horse mad, and i went riding, and it was a bvrilliant experience. trhe beautiful countryside makes a good ride, and even on foot, the breathtaking scenery is well worth a trek.
