Charlie’s is one of half a dozen or so early morning pubs in town that are licensed to sell drinks from 07:00 in the morning on. Hardened drinkers in search for some early booze or workers on night shifts can get their favourite tipple at such an early stage. Not necessarily recommended on a daily basis, a visit to one of these places for sure is some experience. Watch the conspiratorial silent understanding of their visitors. See the place bopping at a time when most normal folks are just about ready for their first cup of coffee. Just don’t expect too much sophisticated conversation at such an early stage.
From all of these bars, Charlie’s is the one that can most be recommended to a “normal” drinking crowd during proper drinking hours as well. They also have Internet facility available and offer the occasional trad session in the evenings.
