Having been in Ireland for four days, we craved a "potato-less" meal and chose Ristorante Rossini for an Italian lunch. We were simply delighted! The staff was warm and welcoming and the food lovely. We chose the bruschetta (among the best I'd had outside Italy), minestrone (piping hot), smoked salmon ( especially fresh) and mussels marinara (generous serving). The complimentary wine was a nice feature and we finished with a yummy Irish coffee (after all, we were in Cork)! We enjoyed the staff and other guests who exuded Irish charm and will recommend this to anyone we know planning to travel to Cork City!
Not a good eating experience! Booking accepted for group of 8 but when we arrived at the agreed time, no table available. Sent across road to local bar to wait (seemed like a good idea at the time). 90 minutes later still no table available & we were not the only ones in this position - at leat 3 other groups waiting over 1 hr for table.
Things did not improve once we got a table. Group of 8 squeezed into table for 6 in the middle of ailseway - people waiting for their table standing over us!
Ordered starters and main courses. Starters delivered - 4 dishes where 3 were ordered. Waiter far from polite when this was pointed out. Main courses arrived - 3 dishes, followed 10 minutes later by 4 more. The 8th dish - fillet steak - arrived 15 minurtes later. requested well done - there was still a pulse, meat was so raw!!. Manager not interested in hearing any complaints. No apolpgy for quality of service.
If you are looking for a nice eating experience, do not go to Rossini's!! Over-rated & rude!!
Favorite Dish: Favourite dish following our experience in Rossini's was McDonalds. At least they have good service!
