Gaelic games (hurling and gaelic football) take place in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Well U2 & Michael Jackson have played there too, but I dont mean sports!
Equipment: To play gaelic games, you would need a helmet, shin pads.
The Cork gaelic football and hurling teams are known as the Rebels. Try to see a match if you can (although you may have to sell your Granny to get tickets for an All-Ireland match and they're always held in Croke Park in Dublin!) - especially hurling which is said to be the fastest field game in the world.

Gaelic sport is an ancient game which originated in Ireland. It is split into two sports Gaelic Hurling and Gaelic Football. Hurling is the oldest field game in Europe, at least 2000 years old, and it is the fastest out field game in the world. Each team has 15 players and each player has a Hurley (caman in irish). This is a stick which a player uses to hit a ball(sliothar in irish). Its a tough sport but is very enjoyable
GAelic football can be described as a mixture of soccer and rugby, although it is a lot older than these sports. The ball is very similar to a soccer ball only smaller.
In both sports a player can score a goal by getting the ball into the net or a point by getting the ball over the bar. 1 goal is equal to 3 points. It is played all over the country and the All - Ireland finals are held in Dublin (Croke Park) every September and is a must see.
