One would assume that, given Ireland's weather, it's a good idea to have an umbrella with you.
In Cork, this can be a bit problematic. Whether it's the layout of the buildings or something more mysterious, the winds are unpredictable, whipping around and changing direction. It's particularly bad in the vicinity of any of the bridges across the river.
After any windy day, the corpses of umbrellas litter the streets all over town - be warned. ^__^
