Walking and the roads in West Cork

by songlines

If you are walking in West Cork, and what could be nicer, what with the lovely scenery and scents in the summer, you need to be very careful. The photo is an example of the smaller roads, they are fine because cars are inclined to go slow on these. It is the bigger roads, like the N71 for example between some of the little towns in West Cork. The cars can be going very fast around the bends, if you are walking, take care! Keep well in and watch and listen out for cars.
