Watch out for special, mystic places like this one : The person in that "coffin" is NOT a catholic saint, but a celtic water-god, whose sculpture was placed close to this small well and when you take a closer look at this mystic place dating back more than 1000 years you may see that the local people still come to this place today in order to pray for clean water and fertile farms and they pray to the celtic god, who is decorated by a catholic rosary.
I found this special place on the main road from Donegal to Glencombcille and it is almost half-covered by the much higher road.

Donegal Castle
Donegal castle was built as a stronghold by the O'Donnells in the 15th century beside the river Eske. It is open daily from 9am-6.30pm. Last admission 5.45pm. For more info Tel 073-22405.
