This is a good restaurant which, as the pun in the title suggests, has a nice selection of Italian wine. The food's good too and their Caprese is the best I've tasted in Dublin (tho that may just mean I need to get out more :-) The specials vary from day to day and service is friendly. Overall, the atmosphere is relaxed and cosy.
As with most places in Dublin these days, it ain't cheap but by Dalkey standards its reasonably priced. Check your bill though, as the last time I was there they'd accidentally added a drink to it.
Favorite Dish: Caprese!

Located on the first floor of a building on the main street of Dalkey is probably the best value food you'll get in the village (other than takeaway). They have a good early bird offer. Food is fine and staff are pleasant. Service is very quick so its a handy pitstop if you don't have much time.

After walking to Dalkey from Killiney Mugs was the first café I came across and feeling both hungry and in need to sit down and rest for a while I went straight in. I liked the atmosphere of the café and it seemed like other costumers were not there for the first time.
I had a fresh orange juice and a cinnamon-raisin bagel (toasted) with cream cheese and it was 5.85 Euro.
When I went to the bathroom upstairs I noticed they had a few computers in the upstair room , so it is also an Internet café.

In is a bar-restaurant that serves good food, is relaxed and has live music (usually at least a pianist) on a Saturday. Its usually possible to get a seat.
Favorite Dish: The burger, tho the deep fried cheese and cranberry sauce is great (v bad for you of course ;-)

Pretty limited if pleasant choice of snacks. A good place to come with a big pile of papers of a Sunday. The trick is to try and grab the couch at the back :-) It has wifi so also handy if you want to lug your comp down and work away on it.

The confusingly named Guinea Pig (Shld be called something like the Old lobster pot :) is actually a very good if rather pricey fish restaurant (don't worry, there are also veggie and meat dishes) that has been around a long time and has many devotees. It's may be the best restaurant in Dalkey.
Favorite Dish: Anything from the early bird menu because the A la carte scares me :-0

The Idlewilde is one of several cafes in the village and offers breakfast and lunch food with good coffee. Its the sort of place you might go into to read papers on a Sunday and has a nice laidback atmosphere. On sunny days you can eat out in the courtyard. The staff are pleasant but usually very busy so be prepared for a bit of a wait to be served!

Recently refurbished, Jaipoor serves a wide range of Indian food. I'm no expert on Indian food but I really enjoyed it and, judging from the contented hum all around me in the crowded restaurant, so did the other customers. Its pretty reasonably priced too, especially if you go for the early bird (and frankly as fast as the restaurant filled up this might also help you get a seat!)
The Dalkey branch is one of three in Dublin.

Good Italian food at reaonable prices in Dalkey. Main dishes are around 8-10 euro. This a nice small, casual restaruant in the main street in Dalkey. It is opposite the Queen's pub which is a very good spot for a few beers before or after your meal.
It is necessary to book in the evening but during the day it is quieter and a very relaxing way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Favorite Dish: Cannelloni and Lasagne though the Pizza's are excellent also.

Every village needs a cheap and filling takeaway and Dalkey is lucky enough to have two of them. This is one and will satisfy your needs reasonably if you're not too fussy. Take your takeout to the coast and sit by the waters edge. Really, what more could you ask for :-)
