Favorite thing: Also known as "Stiletto in the Ghetto", "Filler for the Pillar", "Spike in the Dyke", "Skewer near the Sewer", "Stiffy by the Liffey" or to give it its proper name - The Spire of Dublin.

Originally supposed to be built in time for the Millenium, the Spire was only completed in Jan 2003!

To me it is basically a metal toothpick in the middle of O'Connell St in front of the GPO. It is the highest monument in Ireland now but you cannot climb up it or anything like that.

And here is the first VT photo of it, taken from Abbey St.

Favorite thing: You can call this thing how ever you want, but for us it's always been The Needle. Not the spire or the spike. The Needle :-p

Favorite thing: This is the Millenium Spire in O'Connell Street - and it really isn't my favourite thing about Dublin.
