There are a number of goodcinemas in Dublin city centre...the ones I usually go to are ...
1 - The Irish Film Centre, Temple Bar. Shows mainly foreign language films and is mainly an arthouse kind of cinema.
2 - The Screen, Hawkins St. Usually shows independent movies, does'nt do blockbusters.
3 - Savoy, O'Connell St. Shows the mainstream movies & blockbusters
4 - UCI, Parnell St. Like the Savoy, it shows all the Hollywood blockbusters

Irish Film Centre: Movies, food and more
Obviously, it’s a cinema, with the latest arthouse fare, but it’s also a pub, a restaurant and an occasional music venue. You need to be a member to watch films here, but they sell weekly memberships (€1.30), which you can buy just before your show at the membership desk. They have a decent menu, too, even if the service can be a bit shaky at times (like we’ve said elsewhere, the lack of a tipping incentive does seem to make quite a difference), and the bar is perfect for a post-movie pint, since you’ll often need to discuss what on earth the film was about in this venue.

One evening we went for a drink to Irish Film Center - apart from having a chance to watch quality and not always-so-commercial movies, you can - have a pint or two, of course!
