Unlike Newgrange which was a ceremonial site, Knowth was a site that has been occupied throughout centuries. Stone-age, Bronze-aged, Celtic, Viking, and Christian settlements existed on the same site, leaving strata of artifacts of each era. It is an amazing feeling to touch the stones carved milennia ago!
When you go to Bru Na Boinne visitor center to tour Newgrange, take the full trip that includes Knowth - you'll learn so much it will be well worth your time!
