Close to Malahide is Portmarnock where you can have a good time just strolling down the beach with your girlfriend.
Well OK, surely the beach wouldn't compare with the nice ones we have in South Africa or I can imagine the Aussies have but for Dublin this is brilliant.

On a sunny day make a bus trip to the suburb of Portmarnock.
The little village has a beautiful fine-sandy beach and a scenic view. In Dublin the local Buses No. 32 and 32 A leave from Lower Abbey Street for Portmarnock.

Just 40 minutes drive from Dublin up north and you find yourself on a lovely beach. Great during the summer. Long, sandy beach, safe for kids.
