Aya Restaurant, Dublin

This is Dublin's latest restaurant. The first conveyor belt sushi bar. Inside is very pleasant the staff are friendly even if they have not yet mastered the English language. We were shown to our seats and given a menu whislt we watched the conveyor belt going round with so many delicious dishes on it. The restaurant have a special for 55 minutes you can eat as much as you like for ?24.50 including service charge and a free welcome drink.

Favorite Dish: For 55 minutes you can taste everything.. of course the sushi is catered for the Irish palette. I decided to opt for the Tereki chicken (probably spelt that wrong) and a starter of King size prawns. However l did taste everything my friend had and l must say the all you can eat is a much better option. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes their food and is not on a budget.

Annemarie (Annemariebyrne) offered to meet up with me for dinner and a drink suggesting The Church bar. The bar is set in the former St Mary's church which was one of Dublin's first galleried churches. There is a stunning stain glass window and organ built by Renatus Harris.

The bar is fairly trendy and the drinks are a bit more pricey then you pay in some other bars but surely not as much as temple bar. Do be sure to order food early on a sunday as the kitchen closes at 9pm I think. We did manage to wangle some food 15min after that time & I had the beef and ale stew which Hugh & I thought had a lot of bovril stock and a bit salty. The restuarant upstairs is quite posh and the price reflects that, white tablecloths but I can imagine a very pleasent experience.

The toilets whilst not unisex have no real defined door entrance and you can see into each others wash areas but there are plenty of cublicles so you won't get caught out crossing your legs.

Aya is something else in Dublin. Whereas North America has embraced sushi as a cheap and tasty dish, comparable to pizza's, Aya proves that Japanese food is still an expensive delicacy in Europe. It's very tasty, very Japanese (with sushi on a conveyer belt and everything) and very dear. The fact that it's connected to Brown Thomas - Ireland's most posh department store - says it all, really.

Favorite Dish: An assortment of sushi is great here. Actually, everything is tasty.
