Despite being a meat lover, I like Govinda's recipes so, when abroad, use to try a new of those Hare Krishna restaurants... In Dublin, on Aungier street, I found one of the best ones I've ever been! The local is maybe the smallest of the 3 in town, but the atmosphere is warm and people share tables having their meals. Service is very friendly and quality of food excellent.
Favorite Dish: Moussaka, Govinda's Special
The food here is fresh, beautifully flavoured and you gets mounds of it!! You get to choose from a €6.50 or €9.30 size portion. We selected the €9.30 and got a main dish along with 3 sides for this price. The plate was overflowing and was only just cleared. Everything was very tasty and i would highly recommend.
vegetarians from everywhere here is the place ,with cornucopia close to grafton st,to eat in dublin!if you want to avoid batter sausages and "zozzoni vari"(translated :not really healthy fish and chips")give it a try!
Govinda belongs to the Hare Krishna religious group. Their food is delicious and healthy and free from all meat, fish and egg products. Most meals are also suitable for vegans. Plus it's really cheap. Don't go there on Sunday, it's closed.
Favorite Dish: Samosas!!! I'm addicted to them! For drinks they have delicious Lassis and milkshakes
there's a really good atmosphere there as you can imagine. religion isn't really my thing but these people seem happy with their's so that's good enough for me. the close at 8pm which is a bit of a bummer.
Favorite Dish: everything - it's a hare krishna run restaurant so they do really good filling veggie food and of course the prices aren't a rip-off. it's really tasty!
a pure vegeterian 'hare krishna' 'indian' restaurant.
the food is good, but not 'indian' as you would find it in india. its pretty much adapted to suit the european palette.
