Luigi Malones: I've heard of fusion food, but this is a....
fusion restaurant. It seems quite a fad in Dublin - combine a foreign sounding name with an authentically Irish type one. Where will it all end ? Seamus's Wang Ho chop and chip shop ? EL Cordobles Murphy's spanish Tapas bar ? The possibilities are endless.
This place, at least, does authentic Italian food aimed at the mid-market.
Daytime prices are very reasonable, but they do ramp up a bit in the evening. Drinks are well over-priced.
Favorite Dish: One great feature of this restaurant is the fact that you can combine it with a little sight seeing. The restaurant is built on the site of an ancient Friary. Some of the oldest walls in Dublin lurk in the basement, also part of the everyday restaurant. In addition the stairwell has a print of a tile that was found during excavations - known as the 'Devil's tile' it must be an impressive piece in the flesh.
Luigi Malones: Wowsers!!
This restaurant, located in Templebar, is to die for! Good value, and a nice atmosphere. Excellent offers for those who dine before 7pm... e.g. free wine
Favorite Dish: The BBQ chicken wings on the starter menu are possibly the BEST I've ever tasted!!!!!
