The Marriott calls the afternoon tea in The Lord Mayor's Lounge at The Shelbourne Hotel "Dublin's only true Afternoon Tea experience". Well, I can't speak to that as I've not tried the other hotels in town, but what I can say is that it was an absolutely memorable experience amidst hushed, elegant surroundings.
Food is brought to you by servers wearing crisp black uniforms with white starched collars & cuffs.
You'll be too full for anything the rest of the day but it is a splurge meal and well worth every penny!
Favorite Dish:
Everything was amazingly delicious from the scones with real butter, clotted cream and jam to the sandwiches (honeybaked ham with grainy mustard, tomato & mozzarella, egg mayonnaise, smoked salmon & cream cheese) to the desserts (chocolate cheesecake, pistachio financier, coffee & almond profiterole with coffee cream, trifle, lemon macaron).
Check out the travelogue to view the menus.
As for the rest, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Comfy sofas, lovely old fashioned atmosphere and a wonderful place for a posh tea break!
Favorite Dish:
Tea! The perfect place for afternoon tea - and the only thing we could afford, anyway!
