    RDS Arena

The RDS (Royal Dublin Society) Arena is located in the Ballsbridge area of Dublin.

It is just one venue of the RDS complex of arenas and Halls, which are used regularly for exhibitions, concerts and sporting events.

The arena is the home ground of the Leinster Rugby team.

The reason for my visit here, was to see Bruce Springsteen play 2 dates (July 11th &12th 2009) of his 'Working on a Dream' Tour. He had also played here previously - The Rising tour in 2003, and the 'Magic' tour of 2008.

Originally, the venue was used for equestrian events - hosting the Dublin Horse Show in 1868.
As well as Rugby and Concerts, the venue has hosted Tennis and Wrestling matches.

It has a capacity of 18,500 with seating for 16,500.

Equipment: As the weather can be unpredictable, come prepared for all eventualities.
On the first night concert, the heavens opened! Enterprising vendors were selling plastic disposable ponchoes - These are available in the 'Pound Shops' and gift shops/market stalls around Dublin centre too for a couple of Euro.

    Binoculars for a better view

Camera/ Cam corder to record the moment!

Snacks/drinks- cheaper than the outlets here!

Honestly shocked this hasn't been posted before! A great Dublin night out for a group is a night at the 'dogs' - in either Harold's Cross or Shelbourne Stadium. Students pay as little as five euro to enter the stadium where you can place your bets! However, for that little extra, you can book a meal in either stadium. The food on offer is of an extremely good quality, and all bets can be made from your table! It's a great night out for family or friends.

For futher information on the racing, check out www.igb.ie. This site gives info. on all upcoming and past meets.

Just strolling through the centre of Dublin when we came across this fabulous F1 racing car. The info I got on the street told me it was once Eddie Jordan's but now the new owners are looking for a driver. Anyone interested??
