 | Dublin Guinness Brewery Reviews | Tips 31 - 40 of 144 | | If your on holiday in Dublin seeing the Guiness brewery is a must. Aside from the fact it is such a well know and historic landmark, if you do the self-guided tour you get to go to the SKYBAR! this alone makes the tour well worth it because you get a Pint of Guiness and a 360 degree view of the city from high above. So I conclude this review with Cheers!

Probably the most famous location in Dublin, the Guinness Brewery at St James Gate is a little over-rated and over-touristed. The brewing process is interesting if you've never before visited a brewery, and the story of how Guinness was first (accidentally) made is interesting. The museum is certainly the most interesting part of your visit. Otherwise they are just trying to find unique and innovative ways to take your money. The souvenir shop is pricey and the restaurant is very expensive. The brewery was founded in 1759 and Guinness still brews 60% of the beer drunk in Ireland. By 1870, Guinness was (and still is!) the largest brewery in the world. No beer is brewed at the St James Gate Brewery today. Leave a Comment

Although I prefer to find my Guinness in the pubs, lots of folks go to the Brewery tour. there seem to be mixed reviews of this - some love it for the fine views of the city from the Gravity Bar. The Guinness Archive is a treasure chest containing almost 250 years of company and brand history with two exhibitions. The first is an exhibition entitled ‘My Goodness My Gilroy’, a celebration of 75 years of Guinness advertising. In addition, a photographic exhibition entitled ‘Story of a Building’ has been exclusively developed to mark the buildings centenary (established in 1904). The exhibition contains a number of treasures from the Guinness Archive. Leave a Comment

We were a little bit dissappointed that the factory tour is not guided, nor do you actually get to see them make the Guinness, however it is pretty easy to tour the factory yourself. There is a lengthy history of everything guinness from the makers, to its advertisements. I think even kids might think this was pretty entertaining. The ticket includes a drop of guiness ( a good souvenir if you're being frugal) and then at the end of the tour you get your guinness and can drink it in the gravity bar on top of the factory. ( glass walls)kids get a free soda. While seeing the actual making of the beer would have been cooler this is still a must see for Dublin. Entrance was about 8 or 10 euro. Leave a Comment

If you’ve toured breweries before, it’s hard to justify the 15 Euro cost of the self-guided tour of the Guinness Storehouse and brewery. It’s a slick operation to be sure, but, as Dublin’s top tourist attraction, it’s also as touristy as it gets. The brewery’s saving graces are the “free” samples to be had along the way and the “free” pint at the brewery’s Gravity Bar, which, coupled with panoramic views of the city, is pure bliss.

This was a highlight of the trip. The place is huge and modern inside, and well worth the tour. The view from the bar on the roof after the tour is incredible. The tour includes a free pint, and Guiness really does taste the best straight from the factory.

The admission fee is not cheap (14€/ adult), but I think it the visit is worthwile. The premises are huge and the brewery open to the public has several floors, along which you learn a lot about the beer production and all what relates to the 'Guiness World' (advertising, presence, Guiness book, etc..). At the top of the building there is a circular bar where you can drink a Guiness or soft drink (included in the admission fee) and enjoy the great views of the city.

everyone goes there...so why not??? if you love guinness, go STRAIGHT to the top to get your free pint. well, that is if you paid the admission. one quick hint...if you're on a budget, don't pay at the door and walk in thru the second floor. the only reason you pay is to get the so called free pint at the top. >_< anyway...it's a cool place to visit though. it's basically a walk through museum...and you read everything off the walls, through glass or off the floor. i learned a lot about coopers and other stuff too... i've taken friends there many time but i never paid cept for the first time...just pay for your pint at the end and you're good to go...
