This beautiful church caught my eye when walking along Grafton Street on our wat to St Stephens Green. Looking down the beautiful side street, Anne Street, we saw the beautiful facade of this church.
This first thing we noticed was the colourful street full of activity and to top it off the church at the end of the street. What a setting and the sun was shining the moment we took our photo.
The church is over 300 years old, founded in 1707, however the Romanesque facade was added in 1868.

The interior of the church was designed by Isaac Wills and completed in 1720. The original, partially completed facade was replaced by the present imposing neo-Romanesque structure by Sir Thomas Dean in 1868.
Famous people associated with St. Ann's include Wolfe Tone and Bram Stroker, author of Dracula.

This church was built in 1707, but the impressive roman facade has just been added in 1868 by the architects Deane and Woodward. You get the best view from Grafton Street. The multicoloured glass windows are very beautiful. Some of the most famous members of this parish were the patriot Wolfe Tone who married here, Douglas Hyde, the first president of the republic of Ireland, and Bram Stoker, the writer of Dracula.
