Wax Museum, Dublin
This would be a great place to take the kids as they always like this sort of things. There is a Chamber of Horrors as well as a Wall of Mirrors and of course, over 300 wax figures including a diverse range of characters from James Joyce to Michael Jackson!
The museum is easy to spot from the outside as it has a great big model of a ginat climbing up the outside.
A lot of the figures are more relevant to Irish history but there are also the obligatory waxworks of Michael Jackson, Madonna and Elvis. It has to be said that the figures are a bit kitsch but it doesn't cost a lot to go in and is quite entertaining.
I think it was about 6 Euros for adult admission.Open Mon-Sat 10am-5.30pm
The Chamber of horrors is worth visiting even only for the waxwork of Hannibal Lecter, it scared us to death because he moved qite unexpectedly!
NB The website below says the wax museum is relocating currently to Smithfield and is due to re-open March 2006 so I'm not sure how much of this information will still be relevant but thought I would still post the info as I presume the models etc will be the same. :o(
