The Nightlink (also fondly known as the Drink-Link or the Fight-Link) is a late-night bus service from Dublin city centre to the suburbs, a much cheaper alternative to getting a taxi at the weekends.
Fare is usually €4 for within the greater Dublin area, rising to €6 for commuter towns like Maynooth and Ashbourne.
You either buy the ticket from the Dublin Bus kiosk in D'Olier st or pay the driver.
The service is available Friday to Sunday nights. Handy if you are staying out in the suburbs.
If you're worried about catching the attention of some belligerent drunken skanger, sit downstairs.
Over the weekend, Dublin Bus has a "Nitelink" service, so that party animals can get home safely. Nitelink services leave regularly from Westmoreland Street (Westbound directions), College Street (Southside destinations) and D'Olier Street (Northside destinations). Tickets are EUR4 (EUR6 for the furthest destinations) and can be purchased onboard (exact change only) or at the nearby Ticket Bus. Check out the Dublin Bus website for more info or drop by at their office on O'Connell Street.
