The shamrock...yes is it sad...

by jenniferhen

The shamrock...yes is it sad but true, the Irish told me so, the harp that graces the bottles of Guinness is actually their National Emblem, not the shamrock. It is a very common misconception amoung tourist to think that but the Irish don't mind being known by that little 4 leaf clover either way! But it was actually Saint Patrick who made the shamrock so famous. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Trinity, and has been associated with him and the Irish since that time.
