Tigh Nan Paidi: Dinner in Kilmurvey
When we were in Kilmurvey, this was the only place to get food in the evening (other than the expensive dinner at our b&b). Since we weren't hungry for a large meal in the evening, we bought inexpensive sandwiches and water here and ate them in our room before the evening bike ride.
The shop (Paddy's) is only open from 11-5 - so it's not really an option to sit down for dinner there. We loved staying in Kilmurvey and this limitation wasn't a problem.
Favorite Dish: The sandwiches (egg salad and tuna salad) were good. The shop is known for their smoked fish.
Sean Cheib - The Ould Pier: First Stop
There are only a few options on the island, but we weren't disappointed. Having come off the ferry from Rossaveal, we were hungry for an early lunch before heading to our b&b. Also, once you leave Kilronan, the options become limited.
This restaurant is cafeteria style - order at a counter and choose a table once the food arrives. I had a truly decent fish and chips (nothing amazing but tasty to be sure) for about 10 euro.
You'll know the place by the whitewashed building and white awning. We ate outside because it was a beautiful day. There was no rush as only a few others were present and so we enjoyed our table and watching the tourists and locals alike pass by.
[I snapped the picture as I walked up and didn't notice the facial expressions on the people!]
