McCarthy's Pub is located at Upper Main Street, Dingle, Co. Kerry. The Pub has been in the McCarthy family since the early 1800's. It has proved popular as a social establishment since that time and still maintains it's original charm. McCarthy's Bar, Dingle is the new venue in town.
To date, many top musicians, like
Oscar winner, Glen Hansard (Frames),
Mundy,
Nigel Kennedy, Damien Dempsey,
Paddy Casey, Sharon Shannon,
Pauline Scanlon, Declan O'Rourke,
and a host of others, have performed here , over the years.

Tigh ui Chathaim: Dingle peninsula pit stop

About half-way around the Peninsula, starting in Dingle, is a small blue pub. This is a great place for a halfway break. The bartendar/owner is very friendly and the beer is good. We ended up spending a little longer then planned here, as the beer and company was too good to leave.

Walked into this place in the middle of a heartwrenching version of Paddy's Lament by some of the talented local musicians. Was blown away by the performance. This place was an old haberdashery and is always good for a visit.

John Benny Moriarty (aka "John Benny's Pub"): Great pub music

Many people come to Dingle just to hear the music. There are two ways to do this: walk around town and follow your ear, or pick a pub, get a good seat, and wait for the music to start (usually around 9:30 or 10PM). Music is more or less continuous until closing (normally around 11:30).

While there's no shortage of pubs with great music (the most famous of which are the Small Bridge Bar and O'Flaherty's), my choice is John Benny Moriarty's. It's cozy, has friendly staff, and the music is very good. Oh, by the way, it has both Guinness and Murphy's on draught, should you choose to have a pint or 2 (or 7 or 12... ;)

Dress Code: Clothing required. Seriously, try to leave your jacket at home, as it can get quite hot and stuffy when the music gets going. Risk a chill and/or getting wet on the walk back to your B&B. Trust me.

The Singing Salmon: Dingle town is a great place for music-pubs

Dingle - town is a great place to go, when you enjoy to hear traditional Irish music at a pub. There are plenty of music-pubs with live music during the summer season - most of them directely at the port of Dingl-town.
In general you will find lots of pubs with Irish folkmusik each night in Dingle Town, and unfortunately this town became packed with hundreds of backpackers and busloads of tourists every day in summer - a pity, because prices went up and the "Irish feeling" is gone at many places.

John Benny was the coolest pub. The owner was a talented musician and evidently so is his wife as her CDs were for sale in the bar. The barmaid was awesome, we had great conversations with her.

Dick Mack's

Down the street and around the corner from our B&B was the eclectic and fun pub by the name of Dick Mack's. Eclectic because the pub is also a repair shop by day. Parts and tools get swept aside for the evening's fun.

Dick Mack's Pub, Dingle.

Dick Mack's Pub has a long history in Dingle . It is both a Shoe Repair shop by day and a Pub by night.

Nice looking Pub...there were fresh flowers displayed when we were there. A great place to start your evening of Pub hopping.
One evening we caught a herd of sheep being guided down the street in front of the Pub I think it was a daily occurance.

MacCarthy's Pub, Dingle.

Mac Carthy's is a simple pub, not much to look at inside, but it sure can be a great place to round out your night of Pub hopping in Dingle. Lots of history in this old Pub. We had our last call here. But look out ...when it is 12:00 midnight, it closes down on the minute.

wow....I see that they have changed the color since I have been there. It was bright blue, now it is tan.
