Favorite thing: Who could think of a more appropriate name for this phenomenon??
It's in Kenmare,
It's a bunch of stones,
They form a circle.
That's it, basically.
Fondest memory: The story goes that, just like Stonehenge, this stone formation had something to do with druids and sun dials (???).
Well, having had the opportunity to admire the gigantic Stonehenge formation, seeing this stone circle in Kenmare was a huge disappointment. Located in what seemed to be someone's backyard, the stones were small enough to have been placed there by a couple of practical jokers - if that were true, they would surely be laughing their heads off at the busloads of tourists gazing at a couple of round stones of knee height.

An easy 5 minute walk from the centre of town, the Stone Circle should not be missed. When we went, our daughter Rebecca, not usually a superstitious person, refused to touch the rocks. An Irish...

Kenmare, in County Kerry was a surprisingly charming town with typical Irish pubs and quiet streets. I stopped for an afternoon and night.
