The restaurants in Kenmare and Killarney were more expensive than we found in the rest of Ireland, presumably because they are two of the more tourist oriented locations. We had a walk through town looking at some of the menus and we settled on Foley's, in part because of a set price menu they had in the window.
When we asked about the set price menu, they said it was only for hotel guests. So why post it in the outside window? As I was tired of looking for a place to eat, we decided to stay and ordered our food, the service took a really long time and when our food did come, they delivered the wrong meal to my husband. After we finished our meal, we then waited again for a very long time to order dessert and then again for our bill. And when that came, it was wrong too! Coupled with the overwhelmingly Polish wait staff in an Irish themed restaurant, it was probably the least enjoyable meal we had on this trip.
Favorite Dish: I ordered the Kenmare Bay Mussels in Wine and Cream, they tasted great but the portion size was small for the price. David ordered the Fisherman's Platter, I tasted a couple of the items and they were average. I had the hot chocolate pudding with ice cream for dessert, it was OK, it reminded me a bit of chocolate lava cake but not nearly as rich or as tasty.
Dinner for 2 with 1 drink and dessert was €49.35. Ironic that one of our worst meals was also the most expensive.

Kenmare, in County Kerry was a surprisingly charming town with typical Irish pubs and quiet streets. I stopped for an afternoon and night.
