Danny Mann's: For Traditional Irish Music

    Squeeze in if you can

This has to be the most crowded bar in Killarney. Great traditional songs with various Irish bands performing. Good Irish humour banded about all night - so don't visit the little girls or boys room or you might be picked on!

Dress Code: No one is interested in what you wear here - just turn up in whatever your comfortable with

The Danny Mann: Pubs, pubs, pubs

    Craic in the Danny Mann

Well, there are loads of pubs in Killarney, all of which are sure to impress. The Danny Mann is one that I particularly like. They have live bands every night of the week and the food is also good.

Try to get their schedule and see if you can find a night on which Spailpin performs. Those guys really rock! They usually perform on Mondays and Saturdays and have been doing so for very long so I anticipate that they should continue for much longer.

Another cool band to look out for is the Pot Bellies.

    Danny Mann's: Irish Music Haunt

Also called "The Danny Mann", this hotel pub is renowned as one of the best (if not THE best) centres for Irish music, singing and dancing in all of Killarney.

A huge place, I visited during the day when it was quiet. One side of the pub was set out for bar food, and the other side had tables and chairs plus a pool table, darts board, several TV's etc.

I had a cold drink, played pool with my niece and nephew, and listened to the Irish music that I grew up with. Even in the daytime there's a Gaelic atmosphere and I could imagine what the place would be like at night. I believe it can be so packed that it's hard to get in, but so worth it if you do.

There was one thing I didn't like about it and that was the smell that pervades the place. I imagine it's stale beer and is probably more noticeable in the day than the night when it's full of bodies:-)

Dress Code: Wear what you like - this is a place to feel at home.

Danny Mann's: Anyone for a little Riverdance?

This place was huge and had several screens showing some messed up version of Riverdance with Michael Flatley. They had a live band coming on just as we were leaving due to two gassy Pittsburghians who had just joined us. Seems like a popular place for bachelorette parties.

The Danny Mann Inn is deffo a tourist haunt, but the food is good and this pub has some of the best live music sessions in town. Make sure you're here early enough to have a good seat and enjoy a pint or two before joining the session or head off to more modern music joints!
