Being one of the more popular sightseeing tours in the Kerry region, there are many tour buses that will drive you around. My tour included a stop at Waterville, the vacation home of Charlie Chaplin (something I didn't know), a sheep dog demonstration, Moll's Gap (for photo pics)....
We managed to tour on a nice day which made for very nice photos. I will upload one once I figure out how to scan a photo onto the internet.

In my opinion the best way to see the most of this beautiful area of Ireland in the shortest amount of time is via a Ring of Kerry tour. The tours cost around 20 euro and last approximately 5 hours. Make sure it includes stops at or affords views of Magillicuddy's Reeks, Killorglin, Sneem, Gap of Dunloe, and Ladie's View. Ladie's View was my favorite part.
If possible, try to meet with the driver before your tour as well. That's the greatest asset you will have on such a tour. A lousy guide will make for a lousy trip.
If I ever did this tour again, I would rent a car and just drive to the places that were more interesting on my own. Some of the roads are pretty narrow and covered with sheep though.

This tour around the Iveragh peninsula is a must-see indeed. The scenery is second to none in Ireland but like I said before, you'll almost be driving bumper-to-bumper in summer. Visit outside this hectic time and things will be much quieter and therefore much more enjoyable.

In these areas, you will come across more American and German bus tours than you can shake a stick at. The coach tours usually take around the scenic Ring of Kerry, Gap of Dunloe (just a valley, I think it's a bit overrated) and Ladies View (cant see the atttaction there myself, its a mountain valley and I've seen better)

Take a walk or rent a bike to travel around Muckross & Dinis. You'll go over bricin bridge where the lower and middle lake join up and on to the meeting of the waters where the upper lake meets the middle lake at Dinis cottage. You can see bricin bridge, the middle and lower lakes in this photo. If you are feeling adventurous you can take a boat trip from Ross castle up through the 3 lakes to brandon cottage, a really stunning day out!

Travel the Ring of Kerry. Go by bus, bike, walk, or donkey but go! Beautiful scenery. This photo was taken of Upper Lake near Killarney. For a very touristy area, it is surprisingly empty. Don't miss the Dingle Peninsula for amazing ocean views.

The scenery changes from ocean to lake to mountain views. This was one of the most beautiful days of my life.

Climb up away from the main road of the Ring and get some really fantastic views high in the hills. The cows will come right up to your car window and say hello.

a great base to explore the surrounding areas

Killarney is one of the most touristy places in Ireland. Many people choose Killarney as a base to explore the Ring of Kerry and maybe also Dingle-Peninsula.
